We are a wholesale greenhouse in Keymar MD. Our facility has many machines and working parts that need to be on a regular maintenance schedule. We are looking to add to our maintenance team in order to help stay on top of all repair and maintenance issues.

We are searching for a highly motivated individual to assist in the growing of quality bedding plants, fall crops and poinsettias. The ideal candidate must have a good work ethic, a passion for growing quality plants and be a team player. Weekend flexibility is required. Key responsibilities for the Section Grower include but are not limited to:

• Irrigation of crops with proper techniques and timings.
• Ensure that all critical cultural tasks are completed on time.
• IPM scouting for pests and disease.
• Pest and disease control applications – chemical and biological controls.
• Maintain records of all chemical applications crop movements in area.
• Ensure that growing areas are clean and sanitized prior to use.
• Other task and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Key requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong growing and technical skills.
• Willingness to work flexible days, Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
• Self-directed with high organizational skills & ability to multi-task.
• Skilled in problem solving.
• Flexibility & willingness to learn.

We are a seasonal business with overtime available during our peak seasons. During off season we try to accommodate hours by picking up our empty rolling racks. Drivers will be home for the weekends and most evenings. Benefit package available to FT drivers include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Accident, Disability, 401K, & excellent starting salary.

Necessary Job Skills

• Driving Experience: 1 Year
• CDL Class A Preferred
• Clean Driving Record
• Valid Medical Certification

Work on Production Lines filling in areas where machines are not present. Examples would be as follows; Feeding empty containers into soil filling machines, planting on conveyors, placing hangers on baskets, loading product on production carts and unloading product from carts onto concrete floors, consolidate or move product from one area to another in the greenhouses and hang baskets from floor to cables. Labor is repetitive and physical at times. Additional duties may be assigned by management relating to the function of producing/shipping plants.

Essential Functions

• Must have the ability to count accurately and record data on paper and forms provided.
• Able to lift 30lbs
• Keep pace with co-workers or conveyors when on production lines.
• After training, be able to operate electric transport vehicles.
• Employee must be able to speak English

Compensation

Starting salary is 15.50 after 30 days .50 cent increase.
